To say that I would recommend this place is an understatement. What a special opportunity. Read the NYT review to fully appreciate this place but wow the food is so delicious. If you’ve ever have uzbeki food, it is quite similar to afghani but this is even more delicious. The service is quick and kind and the ambiance is paying homage to Afghanistan. Honestly, you can’t go wrong here with anything especially if lamb is involved!
Very disappointed at first visit about food quantity, One order of Lamb kabab $17 I spent for take out and got very little amount of food. See the picture and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. First time I went there and like the decoration and thought may be come with my friends here But my first order was disappointment. Food quantity very less and a bit pricy. I hope owner see my review!
Dunya Kabob House is a hidden gem that not only tantalizes your taste buds but also immerses you in the rich tapestry of Afghan culture. From the warm greetings by Mustafa jaan, Massie jaan, and the incredible crew to the last flavorful bite, our experience was a journey to Kabul itself.
The atmosphere is a masterpiece, adorned with a perfect blend of Afghan culture that envelopes you in its charm. The decor, the music, everything creates an ambiance that transports you far beyond the restaurant walls. It's not just a meal; it's a cultural experience that feels like a stroll through the streets of Kabul.
And the food, oh, the food! The Qabuli, Lamb Shops, Lamb Shank, Mantu, Ashak, Bolani, Firnee, Chai, Salata and etc – each dish is a testament to the culinary artistry and dedication to authenticity. The portions are as generous as the Afghan hospitality, leaving you not just satisfied but utterly delighted.
Dunya Kabob House isn't just a restaurant; it's a portal to Kabul, where the flavors, hospitality, and cultural touches converge to create one of the most unforgettable dining experiences. This place is a true gem, and we can't wait to revisit this slice of Kabul in Brooklyn, NY. Highly, highly recommended!!
My husband and I absolutely loved our experience at Dunya Kabab House. The people were warm and welcoming and the food was incredible, the flavors!! I cannot get over how perfectly flavorful everything was. It was our first time eating Afghan food and now we’re hooked! We will be regulars! Thank you for such a great cultural and food experience!!
It was our first experience trying Afghani food. We got chicken skewers, chicken korma with kabuli pulao and firni. The kebabs were flavorful and succulent. Loved the white and green sauce with it. Chicken korma with kabuli pulao was delicious as well. Not a fan of sweet carrots on top. The firni was good, not too sweet and quite different than the traditional one in India or Pakistan. The complimentary salad was fresh and the naan, though a little hard, was good.
A friend and I met there for an exceptional dinner recently. The food was delicious, with nuanced flavors in every beautifully prepared dish. The service was incredibly gracious too.
We arrived early (6pm on a Monday night), were the only guests there and were sat at a table for 6 up at the front. A few others trickled into the place as dish after delicious dish arrived at our table... but by the time we left, the place was packed (justifiably so!). They clearly needed the table back - yet they brought us an unexpected complimentary rice pudding treat rather than rush out the door. Amazing. I'll definitely be back - many times!
I moved to NYC from Karachi, so I've been familiar with Afghan food since childhood. This was one of the best Afghan food that I've had in a very long time! Warmest servers, amazing quality, would 100% be coming back!
Food was fresh and tasty, service was great, and atmosphere is so cute. They have the cutest decorations on the walls including paintings and a map. I ordered the chicken kebab without the qabuli and it was delicious and fresh. They have complimentary sauces on the table and I added the white sauce and a red sauce and it enhanced the flavors! 10/10
